Salem, 1692: Fear grips the community as accusations of witchcraft spread like wildfire. Only one judge, Nathaniel Saltonstall of Haverhill, will have the courage to stand for truth before scores of innocent victims are sent to their deaths. Based on the true story, Saltonstall recounts how this remarkable man stood alone for the accused, despite the risks to himself and his family.
At ifarm, Michael will explain the real (often misunderstood) history of the Salem Witch Trials, while setting the scene for the play’s hero, Nathaniel Saltonstall. He will also explain the ways that the town of Boxford and John Towne, the founder of the Towne Farm (today ifarm LLC), were intimately connected with the witch trials!
